The second annual Dominion Riverrock adventure sports and river life fest in Richmond, VA saw record attendance numbers for the weekend of May 14th and 15th. This year, the fest drew over 3,000 participants competing in sports ranging from big air kayaking to trail running to
freestyle biking to dog events. Festival-goers got a chance to see several top athletes participating throughout the weekend such as Tao Berman, Aaron Chase and Jeff Lenosky. Over 25,000 spectators came out to Brown’s Island to watch the event produced by Sports Backers and Venture Richmond. The turnout this year helped make Dominion Riverrock one of the largest outdoor sports festivals in the country. Along with the sports, this year’s activities included several concerts throughout both days featuring local Richmond artists as well as headlining acts Robert Randolph & the Family Band and Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. The fest also featured an interactive village open throughout the festival. In this area, festival goers could participate in plenty of activities for all ages including raft rides on the James River, kayaking in the canal, and more.
